Transparency
and Commitments

Mezcalero's extended communities make much more than mezcal, and many of the things they make can improve your at-home mezcal experience. Mezcal Curiously leverages our position as a bridge between mezcal-curious and mezcal-making communities by handpicking our maker partners based on the quality of their crafts and the potential for their local positive impact.

Transparency drives everything we do. MC shares detailed quarterly shop reports with our online community and with maker partners. Nonexclusive partnership agreements let makers work with other clients and pursue other projects. We want our makers to work at their preferred pace and volume, so rather than requesting increased output, MC's shop will grow by seeking additional partnerships to meet demand. Shop inventory will vary as we build our partnership catalog.

Our priority is community benefit, not profit maximization. Mezcal Curiously refuses to take advantage of the people who sustained mezcal before there were financial incentives to do so, and will actively oppose any who would take advantage. This Profit-Giving Program cultivates that legacy and empowers its people to prosper on their terms.

Profit Distribution

Mezcal Curiously shop prices are based on market analysis rather than markup percentages. This ensures that makers receive returns that reflect the true value of their products.

Makers receive their asking price when items are bought to stock the shop, and profits return directly to the sold item's maker every quarter. Quarterly shop reports and profit distributions use calculations that include direct costs like stock purchases, shipping, and processing fees. Shop items may be repriced or repackaged if they don't generate sales within 30 days of listing.

Partnership Agreements

Mezcal Curiously partners with makers who share our commitments to craftsmanship and community, and we expect mutual transparency. MC annually reviews our maker partner's production practices, labor standards, worker compensation, and environmental impact to ensure the ongoing local benefits of our partnerships.

MC focuses on family-sized operations since we believe that human experiences are elevated by human-scale creation. Your mezcal experiences are amplified by the influence of a maker's hands on their craft, whose unmistakable presence can be felt for years after it's made. Mezcal Curiously doesn't aim to sell the most or the best of anything. We aim to give back to those who make, maintain, and enjoy mezcal.
